Bingo Chat Acronyms

For those of you new to bingo it can be a bit daunting being in the chat room and watching people speak in acronyms. In fact, sometimes you get the feeling that you are in a parallel universe. You know everyone is speaking English but you have no idea what is being said.

Being logged onto and understanding the chat is a vital part to playing at a bingo hall. You can get great cash prizes just for participating in the chat so it is best to take a few minutes now to try to understand the lingo.

When you are leaving for a while you can type something like AFK (away from keyboard) or Bbl (be back later) or even BrB (be right back). All of these abbreviations are common. When you have returned from your break you can type BAK (back at keyboard). It is important to let the chat master know when you are at the keyboard so the chat master knows that you are eligible for prizes.

Now there are some other common sayings as well. For example, if someone says something funny the standard response it LOL (lot of laughs). However, if someone says something really funny then you should reply with ROFL (rolling on the floor laughing), which is funnier than simply typing LOL. Of course if you are a little bit rude you can type LMAO (laughing my ass off).

In just two short paragraphs you have learnt most of the common chat slang. A couple more common ones and you are just about ready to participate in the chat room. When someone else wins it is polite to say Wtg (way to go). If you win and someone complements you, you can answer with thx (thanks).

Now if you are lucky enough to win something in the chat room the chat master with say something like Wtg – Rebecca – 10 BB. So you know that you have won something because the chat master has said "way to go", but what are BBs? BBs are bingo bucks which is free money you win from time to time by participating in the chat. Bingo Bucks cannot be cashed out, but can be wagered and any winnings can then be cashed out.
